Position Overview
We are a growing orthopedic and spine surgery practice seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Business Development Manager to expand our referral network and increase practice growth throughout North Jersey and Rockland County, NY. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with physicians, medical practices, physical therapy clinics, hospitals, case managers, and other healthcare referral sources while promoting the practice’s orthopedic and spine services.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with healthcare sales or physician marketing experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building strategic partnerships that enhance patient access and drive business growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, physician groups, physical therapy practices, hospitals, urgent care centers, pain management providers, chiropractors, employers, workers’ compensation case managers, and other referral sources.
- Conduct regular in-person visits to physician offices and healthcare facilities to educate providers about the practice’s services and strengthen referral partnerships.
- Identify new business opportunities and implement strategies to increase patient referrals and market share.
- Develop and execute strategic business development and marketing initiatives aligned with the practice’s growth objectives.
- Represent the practice at networking events, community outreach programs, health fairs, and professional meetings.
- Collaborate with physicians and leadership to promote new services, providers, and specialty programs.
- Monitor referral trends, market activity, and competitor initiatives to identify opportunities for growth.
- Maintain accurate records of business development activities, referral sources, and sales performance using CRM or other tracking tools.
- Analyze marketing metrics and prepare reports on business development efforts and return on investment.
- Assist in developing marketing materials, presentations, digital content, and promotional campaigns.
- Maintain a professional image while representing the practice within the healthcare community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Competencies

Position Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare sales, physician liaison, pharmaceutical sales, medical device sales, healthcare marketing, or business development required.
- Experience marketing to physicians, hospitals, specialty practices, or other healthcare providers strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel extensively throughout North Jersey and Rockland County, NY.
- Ability to attend occasional evening networking events or community outreach activities as needed.

Compensation: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
